Let’s get to know Ruchika, a little bit better!
Name: Ruchika Drabla Keshwani
Title: Growth & Marketing Head
A quick learner and a quicker executor, Ruchika revels in challenges turning them into opportunities. By designation, she is the Growth and Marketing Head, but going by the responsibilities, she is the go-to person for every team. Her day starts with team discussions and even ends with it- the way Genie is upgrading with new-age tech, so is Ruchika or should we say as Ruchika is evolving, so is Genie.
Let’s talk Work
Describe a typical day for you do at OGenie:
Haha! Discussions, discussions and some more discussions and then some alliance calls. In between some light moments with my team members.
I’m happy to be a part of a team where learning never stops and never does fun. Even in the hardest of situations, we find fun elements.
What are you currently working on?
Since travel is a little slow, we’re now focusing more on tech. Our idea was always to make life effortless and travel was the first vertical. Now we’re moving ahead by making other verticals of life effortless. But this time it would not be product-based, but service offerings.
What do you enjoy the most about working for OGenie?
Giving it my best and then making my best better!
There’s so much I’ve learned since I started out. I’ve been fortunate to be working directly under Vivek, Ankit and Nikhil, there’s so much knowledge, concepts, a lot of discussions that sometimes go really long and sometimes get a little harsh but then it’s all a part of it.
What challenges have you dealt with that you are most proud of?
The biggest challenge I dealt with was working towards organising processes. I put in quite a lot of efforts to put things in place and eventually, things streamlined pretty well and so did our working.
But I’ll tell you one thing, every day here brings some challenge. We’re working on top technology with a mission to make things effortless and that itself is a greater challenge than any other.
Let’s talk Marketing What’s tougher, marketing for a product or service?
To think of it, marketing is not tough, but tricky. It’s about knowing your market, your niche audience and educating them, so then be it a product or service, once you understand the target audience you can tweak accordingly.
How do you plan marketing strategies for OGenie?
I usually start out with hit & run experiments to see what my audience engages with, to know their pulse and then work accordingly. I don’t stretch campaigns, bring out new ideas quickly and since it is travel- stick more to the visual and video appeal.
Whatever ideas we as a team come up with, we brainstorm, discuss it with the management and get to work. If the idea comes from the management- then also we brainstorm, discuss and then get it going.
Planning for OGenie until this pandemic was fun and not that difficult as travel was one sector that was on top. Hopefully, things will brighten.
I’d lie to myself if I said they all are. Working for RISE tops my list. It was my first-ever event for OGenie and although it was exhausting, it was amazing- marketing, networking, pitching, socialising, working 18x7. A close second would be preparing for Paytm and ICICI.
There’s a lot of details involved and missing even the simplest could cost so it was a big challenge that turned out to be our opportunities.
Let’s get Personal
Besides, I’m passionate about cooking, keeping it healthy and then travelling.
Which place did you visit last?
North East! Even thinking about it I want to go back. In the lap of nature, beauty and friends. It was magical.
Your favourite verse?
सदा मे समत्वं न मुक्तिर्न बन्धः
I am neither the mind, nor the intellect, nor the ego, nor memory
I am neither the body, nor the changes of the body. I am neither the aversion, nor attachment, neither greed nor delusion. I am without form, without limit, beyond space, beyond time. I am existence absolute, knowledge absolute, bliss absolute.
