Let's talk Work
How would you describe your typical day at OGenie?
I start my day with a cup of coffee in my hand, checking emails, and reading news about F1, Liverpool FC, blogs I follow, comics I like, and whatever else I can do while my computer gets ready for the day. Then, I start ticking off tasks from my to-do list by doing everything from having discussions with my team members regarding issues and achieving deadlines to coding and solving problems.
What makes OGenie an ideal place to work for you?
The flexible schedule takes the crown. Being able to work remotely and that too at any hour of the day is great. Another perk of flexible hours is that you can decide when you want to take breaks. People, culture, and celebrations also make OGenie an ideal place to work.

How do you go about adding new features to a product?
The process is similar, be it building a new feature or improving existing ones. The team sits together with or without a whiteboard, draws diagrams to work out a solution, and then hours of immersive coding.
What do you think makes a 10X developer?
In my opinion, one cannot stay 10X throughout the day. For me, the time between 3 pm to 6 pm is the most productive. I call them my "Golden Hours". Pure mental flow, ignited by the cliffhanger and fueled by trance music and caffeine. Those three hours of immersive coding feels like three minutes.
How do you spend your leisure time?
I love watching movies, especially the ones shot in New Zealand or Switzerland. I am also a big fan of Jackie Chan. I am lucky to have friends who are movie buffs too. So we have this wonderful Saturday night ritual where we get together to watch newly released movies, which is an excellent opportunity to connect and have a lot of fun with my dear peers. I also love watching and talking about F1 and my beloved FC Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers.
What's your source of inspiration?
Many industry leaders inspire me. My greatest inspiration comes from sportspersons like Micheal Schumacher, Tom Brady and Rahul Dravid. Whenever people tell me I am not good enough for a job, I always quote Tom Brady, "I'm the best decision this organization has ever made." As Micheal Schumacher says, "Once something is a passion, the motivation is there," I am passionate about what I do and improving myself in the workplace.
